Lockstep - Poem
We're living in two different worlds, feet apart
You've spent so long fighting, you can't recognise someone lockstep beside you
You can only assume they're the shadow of your next adversary
If you search for the perfect evil, you will become it
If you search for the perfect friend, lover or ally, you will die alone
So what do we do if we can't trust our eyes or our ears?
Do we trust each other? Hardly
Or that we're doing our best? Ah, we’ll never know
All I do know,
Is I walk in uncertainty, lockstep with those who believe in a singular better world
