Keep the Lights On

I've been waiting for you

\\ Well, I've been waiting for you \\

It's not blood pumping in your veins, friend

It’s us

Tell your mother you've abandoned hope, as she did

Tell your father he can continue to rot as he deserves

Penance for his position in a timeless sequence

You will pay your own penance in time

We march forward between echoing plaster walls, roaches crunching under foot

Hoping the lights stay on, hope the folks property appreciates

Wait for our loved ones to die to so we can afford a home

But we’re well off, as we try not to repeat ourselves

It’s not blood pumping in your veins, friend

It’s us
