Coffees On - Poem
Coffee’s On
I broke my head over the coffee pot
Red // Black // Gold
Cheap grounds // Amber earth
Cold Home // Stale upon purchase
Held it in my hands
Fingers tracing exposed bone
My skull spilled organics & mercury
Heavy metals and raw energy
Hijacked intellect, history and ideas
Tendons, nails, flesh I had yet to shape
I broke my head over the coffee pot
Blue flames licked my cheeks
Natural gas and stainless steel
I could wipe the blood before you’re home
I broke my head over the coffee pot
Blind receptors well met
Dry skin and cold sweat
Static noise, pen scratching
Red // Black // Gold
Cheap grounds // Amber earth
Cold Home // Stale upon purchase
My hands over the stove, so I might write this
Seared fingers tracing exposed bone
My skull spilled plague and childrens games
